You could actually install Windows XP on two computers, however when it comes time to register your Product Key with Microsoft, which must be done in the first 30 days or it will stop working, you will only be able to register one copy.

Also, if you don't have a registered copy of Windows XP then you also cannot get to Windows Update and download the latest updates for your computer.

Look at you end user agreement, some copies can only be used for 1 computer, others allow for up to 5 computers ... depends on the liscense. Your security key will become deactivated once you use the allowed number of installs. If you need a new registration key, they will charge you $10 to order one.

Almost certainly not. But it does depend on your license. OEM licenses (versions that come with computers that have Windows Pre-installed) cannot be installed on any computer other than the one they come with.

Retail licenses (full versions or upgrades purchased at stores like Staples, CompUSA, and Best Buy (for example)), are licensed for ONE computer only. You may not legally put them on any other computers without first removing them from the computer they are first installed on.

Corporate licenses and Campus licenses (offered only to schools) are often licensed for a certain number of installations.

People like "Misanthropy" who say they violate license agreements and they hate certain companies so they aren't going to listen to them are basically stupid. It's like saying "I don't like the law that says we can't kill people, so I'm not going to abide by it" It's a LAW - you are accepting a license agreement. So since Misanthropy doesn't follow it, I'm going to report him to the Software Publishers Association and hopefully collect my reward - while he is fined $10,000 or more. Nice job Misanthropy!

It is probably a breach of the User Agreement but I have installed my XP on 3 of my computers.

DONT DO IT, They will tell you to register it within 30 days, Anyway you click the register button and it wont register + Its illegal The computer WILL NOT WORK You will have to do a FULL format then install somthing besides windows or go through it AGAIN get linux ;)

You can do it, but it is not legal, unless you have a networking license
