Could some one please tell me who wrote this joke originally?

The famous philosopher, Descartes, walks into a bar. The bartender asks, "Can I get you a drink?"

Descartes replies, "I think not." and disappears!!

Update:

It was the philosopher Descartes who said, "I think, therefore I am." That's why the joke is funny, but only the first time you hear it.

Update 2:

The first time I heard it was on "Babylon 5" as spoken by Alfred Bester, but I'm sure it's much older than that.

I think Descartes himself is the author of this joke. Infact he was more fond of telling this joke than cogito ergo sum.

Don't know, probably Descartes himself, like Nauman said.

Thanks for the good laugh! Too bad others didn't get it!

You're right. I think I heard it used on that Star Trek episode where everybody thought they were Greek gods
