Does taking the Morning-After Pill cause your periods to become irregular?

The MAP contains a high dose of hormones that forces the uterus to expel what's there, causing a period. Your next expected period can be messed up as a result, but after that things should go back to normal.

The morning after pill actually can, and in most cases should, make you bleed. This isn't a period in the normal sense so much as it is a cleansing of the uterus so that a fertilized egg can't implant and become a fetus. It might throw your cycle off for a month or so, but no longer than that unless you take another dosage of it.

I have never bled after taking EC, but I have had spotting arround the time my normal periord should happen, and then heavy bleeding 3 days after that.
