  • Deleting large temporary files in Windows Vista?

I've recently been noticing that something is eating up the free drive space on my PC. I ran a utility called WinDirStat that told me that there were over 45 GB in the folder called

    C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

It's a (very) hidden folder that doesn't normally show in Windows Explorer or with a command window. I have tried several methods to delete the contents of this folder, and although the system tells me that the folder is empty, WinDirStat says otherwise. How do you properly clear out this folder and free up disk space?

  • How to block Facebook Group content?

I have some Facebook contacts who regularly share photos from groups and sources that I find offensive. I don't want to block the people completely, I just want to prevent the content from those particular groups from appearing on my feed. Is there a way to do this?

  • How to remove melted plastic from a pot?

I accidentally melted a plastic utensil onto the bottom of a stainless-steel pot (on the inside). I managed to get most of it off but there remains a quarter-sized area that is being extremely stubborn. I've tried everything from a scouring pad to sandpaper as well as several methods I found online but so far nothing has worked. Can someone please give some advice? I don't want to throw away the pot unless absolutely necessary.

  • D&D 3.5 edition spell question?

I am an experienced D&D player but I need some help with a situation. A party enters a large room about 30 feet by 10 feet in area, and the two longer sides are lined with mirrors that are suspected to be magical in nature (such as Life Trapping). Is there a spell or item that has the capacity to break all the mirrors simultaneously? Shatter only affects non-magical items, so I assume that a force area-effect would be necessary.

  • Trouble printing on network printer.?

We have a home wireless network with a desktop running Windows Vista and a laptop running Windows 7 connected to a laser printer. The two computers "see" each other in the Network Center but the Vista desktop can't find the printer. When the desktop user tries to access the laptop she's prompted for a username and password, but as far as anyone knows, no such was ever set up. Sharing is turned on for both computers. We have no idea how to get the desktop to be able to print. Any assistance would be helpful.

  • American medical fee clarification?

Hypothetical situation: a visitor to the United States becomes ill and goes into the E.R. for treatment. After treatment he pays the hospital's bill and gets a receipt. Three months later he receives another bill in the mail, saying that he must pay the physician's fee on top of the money he has already paid the hospital.

Is this legal? Does a person really have to pay twice for health services?

  • Remembering a children's book?

I am trying to remember the title and author of a children's book that was once my mother's. The stories were about a young girl's toys. These included a piggy bank named Percy, a French doll who began most of her utterances with "La!", and a Golliwog.

The partial title Little Book of Toys comes to mind but I don't think that's quite right. Does anyone recognize this?

  • How do TV series get released on DVD?

Who determines if and when a specific TV series is released on DVD? Is it the producer(s), the network on which the series originally aired, or both? Are there conditions that a series must meet in order to be released (ratings, overall popularity, etc)?

If a particular show has a fan base that would like to see that series on DVD, how could they help make it happen?

  • Sesame Street albums reissued?

I have seen several news stories online that three older Sesame Street albums will be reissued as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations. The Original Cast album, Big Bird Sings, and Bert and Ernie Sing-Along. However I can't seem to find any place that says when this will happen (next week??), and there are no pre-order listings on Amazon. Can someone help enlighten me? I have been wanting these albums on CD for years!

  • Wireless card not working?

I've installed a Linksys-G wireless card into my new computer. In my old computer it worked fine. I followed all the correct procedures and manually set up a profile to link it with our router. The system says the card is enabled and active. However it doesn't find the signal from the router. We know the router works because we also have a laptop that's connected to it.

What could the problem be? Did the wireless card get damaged somehow when it was removed from the old computer and put into the new one? Is there a setting that I forgot? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.

  • Pokemon Diamond/Pearl promotions in Canada?

    Rant...

I have heard of two big Pokemon promotions in recent weeks, one where Toys'R'Us was giving out Darkrai, and another this weekend by Gamespot/EB Games where they are giving out Deoxys. Neither promotion seems to be available in Canada; I have phoned several stores in my city and nobody knows anything about it! Not everyone has the means to travel to the U.S. to get these otherwise unobtainable legendaries. It's not fair.

    Can anyone tell me more?

  • Warning, virus downloader on Yahoo Groups!?

Several times in the last few days, there have been attempted viral intrusions on my system while reading messages in Yahoo Groups, or even just when I access Groups. A pop-up window appears advertising an anti-spyware program, and any mouse click or key stroke will trigger an attempt to download a Trojan. The only way to stop it AFAIK is to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager and shut down the browser, and make sure you have your anti-virus program up to date!

My Norton Antivirus has been doing its job, but for safety's sake I can no longer use Yahoo Groups, which is a BIG disappointment because I keep contact with many friends that way. I hope Yahoo can deal with this problem quickly.
