Do you know any ladies who lost a perfectly good Maiden name to end up with a daft Married one?

Did they think twice about it?

What about stupid double-barrelled ones, while we're at it?

My mom had a friend called Carmella Garmella. I don't know what her maiden name was. It couldn't have been worse, though, could it?

From the very beginning we know that when we get married the tradition is to change our name. So it doesn't bother most of us. My madien name starts with a Y so I was always really excited to get married so that I could move up in the alaphabet. Well the man I fell in love with and got married to his last name started with a Z, go figure. I took his last name and never thought twice about it. From the first moment I signed it on the marriage cert. it felt right, like that was the name I should have always been signing. I like my maiden name and I love my married name.

Yeah, me. I always have to point out that I married one and wasn't born one. And double barrelled is pointless. If you are trying to make a point about keeping two identities alive, what the hell are your kids going to do when they get married? Quad-barrelled? The mind boggles.

Dude...I knew this chick named "666 number of the beast," and I was like sweet Maiden name. But then her heavy metal phase drew to a close and she lost her perfectly good Maiden name.

a friend of mine called Daisy decided to marry a guy called David Bell, her maiden name was Neville. I also have a neighbour who has a double barrelled name Abbey-Howard and is due to marry a guy who also has a double barrelled name Hopwood-Kein and she has decided to combine them so her surname will be Abbey-Howard-Hopwood-Kein.... I really feel sorry for any children they have
