Muslims in the middle east took it outta context and also the pope needed to rephrase his words better. But I am so tired of them killing innocent people, rioting and insulting the west and put the label of Islam on it and no one says anything. I HATE THAT. There is NO excuse for their actions but they make excuses for it. Those muslims who participate in those actions God will punish them and I will pray for it EVERYDAY!!

He read a statement from an old book; "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." Isn't that what is happening today. Isn't the conflict with Israel a matter or faith being fought with weapons? What are the purpose of the car bombs if not to try to force others to accept a certain belief or as a message that indicates that they don't like the way that the other people believe?

The muslims have been condemning other people for years, but now that their own methods and beliefs are being picked on, they start crying. Bummer.

I'm not a fan of the Pope or catholics, so I should also point out that they have done the same thing in previous times; they have used force to try to get others to change their beliefs.

The Pope was referring to how Islam has spread its religion through the sword. This was quoted from a 14th-century Byzantine emperor. That is not the way for a person of the Muslim faith or any other religion to evangelize and expect to get sincere converts.

The Pope: "He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'"

The problem is that the Pope has sided with the Vatican ll thought on ecumenism, which states that all religions have something good to offer and lead one to heaven and Islam is one of them.

The muslims are angry because that is what they do. If the are so easily offended by cartoon images of Muhammed, imagine how they would get when a crusader like the Pope makes comments and quotes that hint at the true character of Islam.

Even though he quoted that as being an example of what not to say or believe. Muslims seem ready to pounce on anyone making any kind of remark about them.

They claim to be a religion of peace, but when it comes time to offer mercy and forgiveness, they meet the opposing force with revenge, violence and protests. Just remember people were killed over a cartoon of Muhammed not too long ago.

Its Muslims vs the Pope - each and every of the Pope did develop into make some easy statements that were severe of Islam, yet not with the point of causing an uproar that could want to wish to have offended all Muslims or any for that count number. the priority is Muslims are unwilling to take a severe look at their founder - and so fairly of easily interpreting the Pope's words - they in basic terms attack.

There is a language barrier. As the Pope said, Islam misunderstood him.

We know there is a language and culture barrier there, but all Islam knows how to do is uprise and cut off heads.

On another note, President Tom (Amidigidad?) made our President Bush apologize for calling them Fascist-Islam, yet I don't hear President Tom apologizing to the Pope.

Just about anything can set them off. If its true, doesn't seem to matter. A Muslim leader spoke at a college and said all homosexuals should be killed, but did you see Americans rioting in the streets? So much for Islam being a peaceful religion.

Muslims, Christians, Jews, aliens, EVERYBODY in the world should grow up and stop being so sensitive about silly little things other people say. Even little kids understand this: "Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me."

I never protested or demanded apologies or all-out rioted every time someone insulted something I believe in! Most rational people don't, regardless of what religion they follow.

you'd be ignorant not to see the point. he's quoting from the crusades. HELLO! do we need to spell it out. He just opened the door to this war turning into the crusades which means "war on islam" that's why the muslims are angry. there's NO need for this war and muslims haven't done anything. just like the last crusades...muslims didn't do anything yet Pope shithead declared war on them. I'd be pissed too.

pope is at a top position of church, and he is to be more mature and responsible at that place, 'coz there are billion of ppl who look up to him, and hang on to his every word. he should have known better to NOT to make False accusations, 'coz this just propagates hatred b/w christians and Muslims. actually, this is a clear indication, that church has always been behind propagating falsehood, misinformation, misconceptions abt other religion esp. Islam, and is very intolerant on views other than their own. church has a history of being radical and so many centuries of hate, violence and mass-murder. they have killed so many ppl in the 'dark ages' who didnt confined to their beliefs.
