How do I fix this?
Both the shift keys on my laptop have stopped working. I've run every diagnostic I can think of, reset the whole computer and more, but I just can't seem to fix this, any ideas would be a great help.

The best and only way to see if this is a hardware ware or a windows software problem is to drop into a DOS command prompt
If you haven't already got a boot disk - visit the link below for a generic boot disk (it is for PB but will work on your system) - when it asks for the master cd's just press escape twice
Once at the flashing command prompt - try your shift now
if it works = no hardware fault and is a setting problem
if it doesn't work then hardware problem
hope this clarify's this for you

Try Re-installing the whole OS, It might fix it up!
Or if it's hardware problem, then you will have to change the SHIFT buttons in your laptop.

Most probably this is a hardware defect. Are you using Dell? If im not mistaken, certain Dell model on back to 2004 period does have that kind of problem.

If you feel it is a software problem use System Restore to go to before the point at which the problem started.
If you feel it is a bad keyboard order one to replace the current one. It is not very difficult.
