Technical Support ,will keep you on the phone line for a long time coz they are trying to put out the fire of its ,hot tops, the last time some one called , Dell Technical Support they was told by the Dell Technical Support ,guy please wait i need too put you on hold for now, 1 coz

another hot top ,has gone boom in the office ,so our order system line is down ,

7days aweek, & all hp-computers have a verry good ,system back up recovery ,this is how there back up recovery work's

HP computers no1 they have the verry best recover system of all

click on start /all programs

in the list go to pc help & tool

then click on

hp-pc- recovery tools-cd

noW click on

creat the recovery tools cd

use a cd(r) disk ...to creater the pc tools cd

then click next

and wait for it to creat a

system tool recovery cd

do not stop it at all

when the system tools

cd is created your have

a system recovery tools

cd- this cd will reinstall

all the software that came with the pc and

now coz we have reset the software it will

restall the software that is on the pc and

reinstall windows xp home and set it back up

windows xp will be reinstalled and set back up

hp-pc-tools cd

this just reinstall's the software that was on the

the hard drive at the time you buy the pc it will also

install windows xp with out asking for the windows xp cd..

hp-pc-dvd revovery creater cd

click on start /all programs

in the list go to pc help & tool

then click on

hp-pc- recovery creater cd

use a dvd (r)disk .do not stop this till the .hp-recovery .creater cd's have been made.then your have your .hp-recover creater cd's

what.hp-creater cd's do

hp-pc-dvd revovery creater cd

use a dvd(r) disk

to create the revovery creater cd

you will have 2 options

options 1: to just install the windows xp & the software that was on

the hard drive from day 1 without for mating the hard drive

options2: will format the hard drive

and reinstall windows xp with out asking for the windows xp cd

& install the software that was on the pc from day1

hp-cd's & windows & product key cd

your windows product key

can be fond on the side of the pc or on the top

or at the back of the pc

now its best to write that windows product key

and keep it in a safe place

or so put that windows product key in to a notepad

and copy the notepad

to a back up cd put the

product key cd. in a safe place with windows xp & the hp-pc-recovery cds

all in a safe place

now you can make back up copy's of the recovery cd's you have made

with the hp.cd creater cd's you use sonci my dvd to make copy's of them cd's

with hp-pc-recovery cd you can use windows burner or sonic my dvd

to make a back up copy of that cd

then make then as the cds for what they are but make as back copy cd's

then your not get any of them mixed up then put them all in a safe place/with

windows xp cd so no one can damage them

I am a believer from repairing computers that HP puts the cheaper hard drives and other low cost parts in the computers. I have hears so many people say their computer was so slow and it had a larger drive then mine and more ram and a faster CPU. But when looking at the access time of the hard drive in the HP it was the problem. Dell are a little better at putting out a little bit better product. Gateway will put a good computer together for you as well. But Gateway has always been known for high prices.

I have built myown computers before and found I can build one myself for less then you can buy an HP from walmart and it will be a lot faster.

So it just depends on what you want to do with it. If you are just going to play on excel or MS word and browse the internet then a 500 dollar HP is just fine. But May as well if you have a credit card anyway just order one from DELL and get better support and a little faster computer for the same price..

I have tried HP support and got hung up in the press 1 now and then you press 2 for this and then you press 5 for this and now you need to press 1 again and guess what you are back at the start. Then you try to bypass the machine and you get the message that all reps are busy at the minute and your wait time on your dime is like 5 minutes. Besure to have your SSN and model numbes and you might be able to get past the answering machine.

Good luck with any tech support but HP and Compac have been the worse. Give it a try before you buy.. You will find out.

The only way I have been able to get to a person on HP or Compac was to press the button wanting to buy a computer.. you get a sales person in a flash. I thought trying to cancel AOhell internet services was hard to do.. Wait till you mess with HP or Compac..

hp is good but so is dell and dell is more easier to fix . so its really up to u and what u like the best

Depends what you want to do with it, both good Laptops. Depends on your budget too. I would recommend both but if I had to choose I would go with Dell but their help desk not the best.

HP is the best computer ever.Go with HP.

i think they are both good, it's so hard to tell. when it comes to printers though, go with the HP

I'll say both. But then, you have to look at the prices, what they come with!
