info on brilliant documentary that focused on recreating the effects of segregation in the classroom?
was filmed in the south decades ago. vaguely recall something along the lines of teacher dividing a class of students by the color of their hair to simulate the impact of racial prejudice. the first day the blondes had the privileges, the next day the brunettes had the privileges (that may not have been exactly what happened but it's close). created such a lasting impact on the students that years later virtually all had participated in the civil rights movement to some extent. one of the best examples i've ever seen of teaching compassion. anyone have any additional info?

Close - it was eye color. You can still watch it on the PBS website. Go to the link below. It's a classic episode (look on the right side of the list of episodes).

A teacher showed us this film in high school. I still remember, she made the brown eyed kids wear brown felt around their necks, and the blue eyed kids wore blue. I remember they were lheading down to lunch or something, and one of the "priveleged" kids made a suggestion about how the teacher could keep the brown eyed kids in line... It was truly remarkable how quickly the students adapted to the situation and accepted the inequality, even participated in oppressing the other group.
