avi to mpeg converter?
Pls help me to get the best avi to mpeg converter software from the internet.. Will be very helpful if anyone can tell me how long does it take to convert a minimum of 900 MB avi file to mpeg.
And my other qst is How is it possible to burn a 900 MB avi (which will be converted to mpeg) datafile on to a CD ? Should I buy a special kinda DVD/CD something ?
I will be very grateful to you if u can help me thru this...

use TMPGENC from http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/e_main.html
It is free to convert to VCD but for MPEG2 (i.e. DVD), you can only use for 30 days).
For a AVI file that is aound 900MB, it will only take few minutes (given you have a P4 2.0G) and the resulting MPEG file will be around 42MB only.
There are some pre-defined templetes that you can used for conversion to VCD, MPEG... (included in the setup file)
So you just burn it with Nero Burning ROM or anything that you have.

i think it's not possible to burn it to CD, because the file is big.
you need a software to seperate the video file into 2
