What is the purpose of using chalk on the tip of a pool stick cue?
I was just wondering, why exactly do people use the chalk on the pool stick when playing? What is its actual purpose?

So that the cue tip does not glance off the ball. When you hit the cue ball, you want to impart a certain spin, to position it for your next shot, to slow it down quickly so it doesn't keep rolling and drop into a pocket. To put spin on the ball (also known as putting a little "English" on it), you need the cue tip to strike the cue ball off center. The chalk helps impart friction, meaning the cue tip doesn't just slide off the cue ball and mess up your shot.

Physics! The chalk sticks to the tip of the cue. The chalk provides friction so when the tip of the cue strikes the cue ball the tip actually sticks to the ball for a few Milli seconds. That prevents the tip from glancing off the ball.

It makes the cue tip "Grip" the cue ball better, thus allowing you to control the cue ball by putting "English" on it.
Without chalk you will "miscue" - the cue stick will slip off the cue ball causing a bad shot.

No, but, as mentioned; "Why"? Use the chalk in a rotation from center to outer edge to chalk. When you good you should not need to chalk often, only during those "Flabbergasting Shots" like jumps and around a ball shot that put stress on the tip and take off the chalk.

people use the chalk at at the end of a pool cue stick because it somehow makes ur shots more accurate by grip

It creates more friction between the pool stick and the cue ball so it has a smaller chance of slipping when you hit it.

The clalk makes the pool stick cue grip to the ball for more precise shooting.

I think it's for protecting the end of the cue. Plus, it helps to apply friction when you're putting a spin on the ball.
