your son should definitely have good head control before putting him in a bumbo seat. my son is turning 4 months on monday and he just got his seat last week. i am glad that i waited untill he could hold his head up to get him one. you could always buy 1 and see how it works for your daughter and if she doesn't like it, return it.

Can you borrow one from a friend first? My son is in day care and is 3.5 months old. He's just starting to get head control, so around 4 months he should be able to use the Bumbo. But the women at his day care told me that some of the kids don't like the Bumbo (but most do), so before I buy one I'm going to see if he likes it first.

My little girl is going on 4 months and I was thinking about buying one for her. She can control her head very well, so I thought it was a good time.

We used one and they were great, but they really need good head control before they can use it - just to help them. I would get 2 but put one away until your son is managing to control his head a bit. Hope it all goes well.

if he cant control his head at 4 months then he needs to be evaluated.

Generally if a baby cannot support its head then you dont sit it up.
