In Bed Does Any Body?

Have to read a book before they go to sleep. It does not matter how late I am up I still need to read. Anyone else the same?

Yes - that is exactly like me. If I haven't got a book to hand any old magazine will do. I even try and read when I've come back from a night out, and only stop if the words are swimming too much!

Yes, I have to read or I can't get to sleep. Even after a night out and I'm so tired I can't hold the book up or focus on the words I'll read the same sentence 5 times before I give up!

I used to read myself to sleep all the time, but lately I've only been getting 4-5 hours of sleep each night so all I have to do any more is lay down and close my eyes.

I don't HAVE to, but it makes it an easier transition in to dreamland if I do. I love to read anyway....so I generally have about 2 or 3 books lying around the house in different stages of being read...so it's not hard to pick one up for five to ten minutes before the sand man comes.

Yes me too I love reading, just finished Meave Binchy's Whitehorn Woods, as, like all her other books, excellent, I don't think I could sleep if I didn't read at least one paragraph before I turned the lights out and as my husband is as bad as me with reading books then that's great.

I have to read at least three chapters of any book I am reading at the time so yes I am the same as you.

Books are too long and I'm in danger of getting too interested and staying up all night reading...so, I opt for a magazine (with short lightweight articles) or a crossword puzzle. No matter how late it is or how tired I am!

After I have been here on Yahoo! Answers, no matter what time I retire, in order to wind down appropriately, I always grab a movie (VHS) and go watch a bit of it and it makes me drowsy and then I turn in. So, I have to see a little bit of a movie first before I call it quits. I need to wind down after concentrating here for a few hours. Best to you from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.)

Source(s): Most old movies I have on VHS format are so boring, but they are funny, too, and that is what relaxes me and makes it a pleasure to call it a day! Take care, now. - C. (Godzilla and Monster Zero!!! for starters.)

I love to read laying down in a warm bed but I get too wrapped up in the story that I can never seem to fall asleep.

I haven't been able to read a book in bed since I got married 17 years ago.

Which is probably good, as I just can't put it down once I start.
