We've got African Americans, Latin Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans.. Why not European Americans?

Everyone else gets called by their continent of origin, why are European Americans named by skin color while the others are not?

Exactly! When I had to go for my orientation in the Philadelphia Public School system, I actually had to take a "class" they gave about African Americans. I received all kinds of resources to support them. So, on my review I asked where the supports were for the European Americans. And that's how I filled out the spot that asked for my race, too.

"sigh" Because Caucasians(which is what your called) came from Europe. They were the people who came on the Mayflower some 200 years ago... Its a sad question, meaning no disrespect. How come We (mixed) people don't have our own? It doesn't matter. Skin and race means nothing..it is only our character that counts.

  • The easy answer would be that people from Europe are all the same. But then take that arguement and call someone from Puerto Rico a Mexican and see what happens.

    You have a great point.
