US bank may have a second chance checking account and other banks may also have a second chance checking account. You will need to apply in person.

It depends if you have a record or an inquiry on Chex Systems. Whenver you go and apply for a checking or savings account, it is recorded as an "inquiry" on chex systems. A record can be anything from non-sufficient fund activity, fraud, or charge offs. Depending on how many records you have or what the record is for is how the financial institution determines whether they want to "risk" doing business with you. You can obtain a phone number from an institution that you can personally call yourself and hear what your record is so that you can go and take care of it. try calling that number and fixing your record if there is one. Its kind of like a credit check on your credit report. You want to make sure it is clean before you can go and apply anywhere.

chexvictims.com REMOVED all their database of friendly banks and are no longer of use.
Try wachovia...they use chex but approve some.
By the way, paying off your items in ChexSystems will NOT remove the items from chexsystems.

Banks usually do a check with those companies before allowing someone to open accounts. You will need to take care of your bounced checks before opening a new account. I also believe it takes a few weeks after the checks are paid before the system no longer reports on your account.
I hope this helps.
