    Make sure your keyboard is set to English (UK English) as opposed to English (US).

    Click on start> control panel>regional and language options>languages tab>details box

    ha ha, you look like bill hicks in your avatar. The amount of stupid americans telling youthat # is the pound sign would suggest your keyboard is set to american settings. Go to Control Panel and have a look, or perhaps you chose 'american english' on your keyboard driver when installing it?

    Go to your control panel and select Regional and Language Options Make sure you have selected English (United Kingdom) and also the location is set to United Kingdom. Then click in the Language tab again making sure you have English (United Kingdom) selected again. and make sure you have English United Kingdom keyboard selected. If you have the States version you need to add the UK one and remove the US one. That usally works for me. Also it might be worth checking you have the correct time zone set to London, as I have know this to cause problemsin the past.

    why is the pound sign # in America and not the correct £? We put $ for dollars which is the same as America

    Well bloody hell, me too.

    Oh what joy this is.

    I thought my keyboard was buggered and was going out to get a new one and for those who are dumb enough to say it is the pound sign well all I can say is what do you expect.

    # is the US pound sign.

    In the control panel "... Regional Options"

    "Regional and Language Options"

    Languages tab -> Details

    You can add and switch other languages for your keyboard.

    1....Click on START

    2....Click on Control Panel

    3....Click on Regional and Language

    4....When Regional and Language Options comes up the page on show has Regional Options written on top. You will see a language displayed. In your case it is probably English (United States).....Click on down arrow and then click on English (United Kingdom), then click ok.

    You probably have it set to American language - change it to UK in your keyboard settings.
