Grey's Anatomy....?
Was anyone else a tad bit disappointed w/ the premiere?
First of all.....what was up with the 5 min. commericals?
Secondly...what was up with Miranda's storyline? I thought that was totally pointless and a waste of time.
The best part was the last 5 min of the show.
Were you guys just a little disappointed? And I love this show and will watch it of course. I was just so looking forward to tonight and it was very anti-climactic.

I wasn't disappointed. It was the season opener which means it is setting the stage for the rest of the episodes to come this season. Miranda's storyline showed that she is starting to soften up and let her feelings finally come through a little. It was also hard to be disappointed since McDreamy finally told meredith he loved her!!

I know what you mean, but it also wasn't horrible. Luckily I was prepared though.
I have been reading up on Grey's for weeks now and so wasn't surprised that it dragged out like that. Here's what I've heard: after seeing the first episode, the honchos over at ABC wanted more of a back-story so we'd know how the characters came to be where they are now and how they made their choices, so they pulled rank and decided to make Episode 1 actually Episode 2. This isn't uncommon, especially when a show switches time slots. The whole reason ABC moved to Thursday nights was to gain more viewers. And often the complaint of TV viewers is that they can't get into a show that's already been on for a few seasons. This was the best way to hook them in and make them feel like it was the beginning.
So! It's going to get better, I guarantee!! Keep watching!!

I totally agree with Omg so tru's explanation. ABC is trying to get viewers who've never watched the show a chance to know a little bit about the characters and hopefully tune in again next week and the week after and the week after...

They played three new episodes in Canada tonight. The recap, the 14 year old baby and the Muffin one. It follows the baby. Did anyone else get the muffin one tonight too? I dont want to ruin it for you as it was on a Canadian station and ABC only played the recap and baby one .

I was disappointed for one reason only.... the fact that it didnt pick up exactly where it left off. That cliffhanger from last season shouldve been where it started. We as the audience really had no clue as to who she picked. We dont know what happened after they each called her name. Why didnt it start there? And Addison is starting to become my fave character, after George of course. I cant really stand derrick though, he's an *** in my opinion.

There could have been more to it. The commercials were a little long winded. And what was up with the music video thing before it started. Hopefully things will speed up next week, because i like the show too, it just took forever to get some substance to it tonight.

True. I was thinking the same thing, especially with the cliffhanger last season; I thought it was going to blow me away, [sadly] it didn't. It felt weird watching it which was odd for me. I have to agree, the last few minutes drew me back in. Can't wait to see what's gonna happen next week though.. lol especially with Cristina and Burke's relationship/his parents [Those two are adorable together].

It was disappointing. The thing with Miranda...Think about how you would feel if one of your interns was Izzy, or Meredith, and you saw all of that pain over love, and then this guy with his dead wife. And he may be dead soon too...Just think about what happened with all of her interns went through last season and she had to watch it. If you watch the 2nd season again, you'll notice a lot of how it changes her, I noticed a lot.
