Need help to get rid of pop up in my computer about a virus alert, please.?

Its been a month or longer since that pop-up comes as my homepage and after browsing through it, tries to force me to pay to install and antivirus software that I don't need. I have check all I can to eliminate that, not even through the control pannel on add/delete programs can be find it to delete it. I have all the protection that I need from 3 sites. One of them is called Spyware Quake. What should I do?.

    You need to boot into safe mode WITHOUT network connnection (F8 at startup and hit enter when Safe Mode is highlighted). Your screen will look enlarged.

    Then download, update, and scan with these trusted worldwide applications:

    Adaware Personal 1.6

    Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4

    AOL Safety and Security Center

    AVG Antivirus

    There are more, but those should be fine for now. I suggest you don't get web based virus protection. Rather download a program (or pay for one in order to download it) and save yourself the hassle.

    Your laptop may well be contaminated with spyware or spyware. Do an anti-spyware test and see. If that isn't the undertaking, it would've been in an e mail you opened and is "invisible" try deleteing a number of your emails if that is not spyware or spyware
