Why do men prefer women who are slim and fit?

Most men prefer fit over slim. They are *not* the same thing!

Basically it boils down to preferences hiding deep in our DNA. We are attracted to healthy women because they have the best chance of successfully bearing and raising children. Muscle tone and a lean structure are indicators of good health that our subconscious can't ignore.

There are very few people without an "ounce" of fat.

My husband has said that I was too thin on a couple of occasions throughout our 23 years. He prefers something to grab on to, as do most men.

Really fat is another issue. A person who is very fat (more than 20lbs. overweight) has a problem, and not just with her thighs. The body is not supposed to look that way, but not emaciated either.

Men are attracted to the visual clues of reproductive quality which means health and vitality. That's why ugly, young people are more attractive than older, beautiful people. Similarly, a fat person does not look and in fact is not healthy.

Well we are not all that way. As a black man my preference is a woman who falls into the category of thick. But to answer your question, slimer and fit girls have more flexibility. One cannot carry a heavyset woman across a threshold. A woman of heavyset stature cannot be put into complex positions during sex. Society doesn't help either. There is alot of pressure on men to acquire slim, fit, attractive women. Otherwise a guy can be rediculed by his own friends for dating such.

I don't really understand that, but then I've never gone to the SPCA to get a date. I myself try to be with a whole person and not just a body, or just a face (although a bank account might be nice for a change).......just kidding. I believe that people who go for a specific trait or attribute are looking for something they can't find and for that I have no answer and certainly will not judge other people for their foibles. All I can do is be as honest as possible, and appreciate the same in others.

"Dog face" is nice?

There are so many other qualities to base a choice on. However, if the only 2 choices are slim and fit, or fat, I'll go with slim and fit. To me, it implies some discipline on the woman's part. She's able and willing to work hard at exercise, and also to not overeat. Fat implies laziness.

Guys are no where near as picky as women. All men want a girl they think is pretty and take whatever package she comes in. The only reason an ugly girl with a great body beats out a pretty girl who is heavy is because the pretty/heavy girl is a biyatch.

Slim and fit is merely more attractive that fat and wasted. Plus some dog faces are quite attractive to many men. Hmmmmm

You are asking for kindness.Your reference to a human face with that of a dog certainly doesn't set a tone of kindness. That being said, here is my attempt to answer your questions sincerely.

Being trim and fit is is a desirable trait regardless of gender. It is only natural that one would desire others with those attributes...regardless of what theirs are. This is not to say, by no means though, that women, or men for that matter, who are not so trim and fit are unattractive. Our looks are what they are, striving to keep a neat and clean mind and body though, is certainly within our grasp.

When you get down to it though, we are ultimately defined by what is inside. Eventually a person's character will clearly out shine their outward appearance.

Everyone has their own personal preferences. I think most guys prefer a thin body because it looks like the woman is healthy and knows how to keep herself in good shape.

Depends on what you mean by slim. If I can see count your ribs by sight wiht out an x-ray your too thin. Where are the glamour queens like Marilyn Monroe?
