What does ESPN stand for?

I know it's Enterteinment and Sports blah blah blah

but I found out on TV that ESPN stand for "Enter the Superdome, Prepare for Noise"

Isn't it weird huh?

    Entertainment and Sports Programming Network, but apparently when ABC bought it out - it doesn't really stand for anything anymore

    I think you are all wrong. I lived in Bristol, CT when ESPN was a small organization. E is for Eastern, S is for Sports, P is for Programming and N is for Network. Every once in a great while one of the announcers will say what it means. Did you know they are 80% owned by Disney/ABC? Over a period of time they grew and grew big but they stayed with Eastern 'cuz every one called it ESPN any hoo.
