When you are installing, you should have an option to change the install directory.
If you already ahve the program installed, just clicking and dragging will create problems after deleting the directory on c:.
What will happen is,
Registry (the database that holds program information will not know the drive changed),
The icon on the desktop, or any shortcut will not work, since it will still be pointing to the c:, when its not there any longer..
Program will not know where to find the required files, because it will still look for the files on c:
The best thing to do is to defrag your drive, and go to, Start, Run, and type
CleanMGR
then hit ok
a screen will pop up, and select all the box's. hit ok. This will clear out cookies, temporary files, and everythng that can be hogging up diskspace that is not needed. Wasted space.
Move your Installers, pictures, music, movies, word documents, or anything along the lines of that, to the D drive. It would be much simpler.

Strange normally you D drive is your CD drive but assuming you have an external drive or two installed hard discs the easiest way is to goto my computer which should show both drives.
double Click on C drive which will bring up the contents.
Minimize the window (top right) this will put it in your task bar
Now bring up the D drive the same way and minimize that as well.
Your two files will now be together in your task bar(bottom) e.g a pic of a file with 2 next to it.
Right click on this and select "tile vertically" this will now bring up the two files along side of each other on your screen.
Now simply drag and drop the files you want to transfer from your C accross to your D.
If you don't know how to do this you simply click on the file you want to move from your C and keep your finger depressed on the mouse key. Now drag it accross to your D drive and release your pressure and it will be transferred.
Sorry if this is not what you want and I have gone into to much detail but a lot of comp novices are not sure of the simple things.

The Easiest way is through windows explorer. Start, programs, accessories then windows explorer. Drag the programs to D drive. Note; some programs have to be in C drive so games, music etc are best to move. Hope this helps

If you are talking about the programs you have INSTALLED. Then uninstall one by one and while installing chose the installation location to be D drive. For example if it asks the installation location like C:\program files\nero\ ..... Just change the C: to D: and it will automatically create the directories in the D drive and will install there.
