http://www.uni-koeln.de/phil-fak/englisch/shakespe... gives you some insight into the theatre in general.
http://archive.1september.ru/eng/1999/eng16-1.htm again a good general overview.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabethan_theatre - not only gives you a good overview, but gives you some further points in which you can look at other details a bit more in depth. Good luck, my friend you have chosen a fascinalting subject to study.

If you can get hold of it, the book "1599" is very good; it covers the period when the Globe Theatre was built, and gives a good insight into the changing tastes of theatre audiences and how influential Shakespeare was in those changes. For example, it was traditional for plays to finish with the Fool/Clown doing a jig; Will Kemp's departure from the Chamberlains Men enabled Shakespeare to lose that tradition and come up with more satisfying endings - compare the ending of Comedy of Errors with Merchant of Venice, for example.

Start by looking at the two most popular companies, Lord Chamberlain's men (Shakespeare was the writer), and Lord Admiral's men. These companies were london based, but they toured occasionally as well.
