After Market Belt Drive?
Is it possible to get an after-market belt drive? I'm wondering how hard it would be to convert a bike over if the materials are available. I'm looking for an actual source, not just a "yes they're available."

I'm thinking idly about buying a Triumph Bonneville, but would vastly prefer a belt-drive.
I want to buy a Triumph Bonneville, but don't want a chain drive.

It should be possible. Try J&P Cycles as a source. Or V-Twin.
I'm not sure about your Bonnie, though.
A belt drive is wider than a chain, so there is more to it than just changing sprockets for pulleys and chain for belt. You need to make sure there is enough clearance. It is possible, anything is. It may wind up being more work than you want to do.
Source(s): No bashing intended, Nomad. I am not familiar with them. My belt drive is much wider than any of my chain drives. I mentioned J&P because they support Metrics also. - NomadLv 41 decade ago
You didn't say what it was for. If it's a metric try these folks;
Quality products, first class people and tons of experience in doing just that sort of thing.
It's really not as hard as you might think. Your simply replacing sprockets with pulley's and a chain with a belt. Piece of cake.

Firecracker; We weren't told he was looking at a Bonnie until after my original post. FWIW, with one of the Scootworks kits it *is* just that simple. They have already done the engineering and fabrication, so it is no more difficult than changing a chain and sprockets. Takes less than a cpl of hours to do.

I think you will be putting your life at risk by making a conversion.
Unless the manufacturers of your bike supply one the don't do it.
That's my advice.
