My other friend went to msconfig on run and went to start up disabled all then restarted the comp & he said that should stop my comp from shutting down but that didnt work either. Do I have a virus? IMO xoftspy is a scam, its not really an anti-virus software.

It actually do more harm than good to your system.

If I recall correctly, it is similar to WinAntiVirus Pro 2006. They spoof themself as anti-virus software when it actually add malware/virus/spyware into your system

If you suspect you got virus of some sort try

    1. Spybot S&D:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index....

click the first one "Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4"

    2. Ad-Aware SE Personal

Note: No single spyware removal software can 100% remove all spyware. Using two or more removal software increases the % of spyware etc. are removed.

it is possible do you have an ativirus (blaster sasser worm) if not get one if so run a full scan , second run a spyware check i would use spybot search and destroy its simple and its free, third press "ctrl + alt + del" and go through this and research each one on google you may see some like explorer.exe svchost.exe other than that it could be a bios problem or pc overheating (cpu) good luck

Probably shutting down due to overheating. If you have owned it for a while, a lot of dust can accumulate in the processor.

try to uninstall that xoftspy, it can do nothing to your computer..if this thing doesn't work, reformat your hd it may have a virus or just install an anti-virus. I recommend PC-Cillin:)
