I think the Nintendo Wii sounds incredible, what do you think?

The controller is awesome, I can't wait til December! £179 sounds very reasonable too, not like the PS3's high price of about £499! I'm sure I read somewhere that it plays Gamecube games as well as DVDs, do you know if that's true?

    Can't wait for Wii either!!

    It does play Gamecube games so hang onto your Gamecube controllers, unfortunatly it doesn't play DVDs, since Nintendo thought that most people already have them! But enough of that, listen to what i'm doing;

    I have already pre-ordered mine with 4 remote and nunchuck units plus Wii sports, Red Steel and Legend of zelda; Twilght princess!!

    I'm going to have 3 friends round on the release, create some "Mii" of each other, maybe have a set or 2 of tennis, and then, as if that was a fine red wine, we will get down to the expensive champagne and have an all night Redsteel Tournament; last one awake wins!! The winner will then get first play of Legend of zelda and we will all play for the rest of the weekend, as an early morning hangover coffee!!

    Thats right Wii is like a great party with alcahol; who doesn't want some!!

    Hi, I cant wait for the Wii. I have pre ordered mine! I does play gamecube games but you will have to buy a gamecube controller, it slots into the top of the console. I would be disapointed if it doesnt play DVDs but it does play music Cds. Wii sports is the game that comes in the deal for £179. but Star Wars and Zelda as well as a few new titles will be released soon after. I think its great to have a interactive console it is definitely the way forward!!

    The Wii WILL play gamecube games and in better picture quality, as well as DVDs. I think the tilty thing is a nice idea, but do they *really* need a new console for it? They could have just made an add on for the Gamecube?

    I might get a Wii, if a PSP doesn't fall out of the sky onto my lap, which is looking less and less likely.

    I have always been an Xbox fangirl but I am definitely looking forward to the release of the Wii. I'm actually hoping that I have the money to buy the system and at least one good game. I heard that you will be able to download archived Nintendo games, probably for a fee. I can't confirm being able to play Gamecube games. I think that the controller is very innovative and hopefully it works exactly how it's being advertised.

    For the money the Wii is an o.k system to have, but it doesn't do even half of what the ps3 offers. The Wii does play all old game-cube games and you can also download all old nes,snes, and n64 games for a fee on-line. I just am not sold on the graphics because they are only half of what the PS3 and the 360 are putting out, and the game-line-up is not for the hardcore gamer, the only games i would be interested in playing would be Zelda and Metroid, other then that it does not attract me at all. I had a game-cube when they first came out and i never played it as much as my PS2.So the Wii is o.k, but i see the PS3 as the system to beat.

    the Wii does sound good. the price is a bit high,but lower than 360 and ps3.

    but to be honest. i dont think nintendo has been making that great systems.me, i like going old school with the original nintendo,super nintendo, and nintendo 64.the games are simpler,at times harder, and funner. although graphics are not as good.

    GameCube discs? Yes, all of them. DVDs? No. And I am certain about that one. (Everyone has a DVD player already, and it would just add to the cost of the Wii). Downloadable back catalouge of retro games? Heck yes!! Add to that a bundled compilation of 5 games, (Wii Sports), and a fresh new way to play, and you've got a killer combination. Wii will rock you!

    Amazing. Its the best of the three if you exclude graphics. GCN - yes, DVD - not sure. It is very reasonable and I dont know how many of Sony's loyals will stick with them on this one. I used to be up to this one. The only thing that worries me is if the contoller will be glitchy. But I'm still gettin one!!!

    Heh, I'm getting it because it's cheaper than 360 and PS3, it's more creative idea, and because of one game: Super Swing Golf: PangYa! If you play American version of PangYa, talk to SakuraMaxx

    i actually don't like it that much. the only cool thing about it is a motion stick but that's about it. maybe you'd play games like tennis or ping-pong on it. but you mind as well go outside and play. even the producers said that it's not one of the greater systems, but its good enought to get because of the price.
