WD-40 on screws in wood?
I'm removing some old wooden screens from my porch, and some of the screws don't want to turn. Would WD-40 on them help, like it does on screws in metal? Or would it make the wood swell and make the screws even tighter?

It will work as any lubricant, but may stain the wood since it is oil based. If you are painting shouldn't be a problem....staining or varnishing you may have a stain where it penetrated the wood.

WD stands for Water Dispersant. It won't swell the wood, and it might help some. It might stain the wood, and if it doesn't come out it could mess up a finishing or painting job(Paint likes to stick to wood, not WD-40)

I would try it.The guy with the soldering iron trick works also. But i believe the main thing to watch out for is to use the correct size of screw driver. The last thing you want to do is strip out the head of the screw.

get a soldering iron or gun and heat the screw up buy placing the tip of the soldering gun on the head of the screw with it till hot. The screw should easily come out
