Will you please help stop the unnecessary slaughter of innocent mares and foals by the Wyeth Drug Company?

Of course. This has been an ongoing fight between horse advocates and drug companies. (I used to do horse rescue and have worked with people who adopted/saved PMU foals so this topic is nothing new to me) In fact, I think this is a great time to address this problem in particular especially with the anti-horse slaughter bills that are currently on in the House and the Senate. If the momentum and awareness that has been created by this issue (slaughter) can be also used to fight this form of equine injustice we could potentially have a win win situation. I say go for it.

side note:(As for those who think this is all fun and games i.e. "I need a hamburger." You should watch a horse slaughter video and see how hungry you are then.)

If you are a horse owner or would like to be one you can help save some of the PMU foals by adoping them.

There are farms that go up to Canada and pick up the foals and bring them to the US for sale. Many are adopted and go on to be wonderful riding horses.

If you can not do not support the Premarin industry by taking this drug there are alternative remedies.

Already done. I am a 51 year old woman just starting the menopause and I have already told my doctor that under NO circumstances will I be using any kind of hormone replacement therapy becuase of how premarin is produced.

Done- I'm not in America and I wonder if this happens in Australia too. It's heartbreaking. Horses offer us soooo much, even if you aren't an animal lover, and to think they are being abused, not just physically, but in every other sense. It's tragic.

Most people are totally unaware of the source of this drug. I recently had a hysterectamy and my doc automatically wrote a script for this product as HRT and then (unsuccesfully) spent 20 valuable minutes trying to persude me to take it. When I told him I had decided to take the natural route, he mockingly said it might work if I was a soya bean. I sweetly replied - did that mean he thought of me as a horse?
