Lincoln owners and mechanics please?

I'm looking at Lincoln LS's - 2002-2005. I'm wondering if I need the V-8 or if the V-6 would be fine. Are there other differences or options that would come with the V-8? Also, is the sport package worthwhile? Are the A/C seats standard? And lastly, do you recommend them? Why or why not. Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

Update:

Hey Mike Hunt, are you answering my question? I don't want a Mazda 6

    John:

I don't fit your category but wanted to say a few words about engines.

My wife has a Buick Park Avenue with the 3.8 V6. It does cheat a bit, in that it has a blower, but I am very satisfied with the performance. I wouldn't be a bit afraid of a V6 in the Lincoln.

BTW, I am an older guy, grew up on a diet of Shelby Cobras, 427 Corvettes, GTOs, 442s etc. Even made a couple of trips down the 1/4 mile in a 426 Hemi GTX. Point is I am familiar with performance and while the Buick is no race car, it's performance is very adequate for any highway application.

Good luck on your Lincoln, hope it works out great.

Well it all the depends on you if you want good gas mileage, what type of look you want, How much of horsepower, and interior. The V8 and the V6 are basically the same the only difference is the V8 has a 4.6 liter engine and comes with 320 horsepower. The V6 has a 3.4 liter engine and comes with 230 horsepower. The V8 would probably come with a few extras like sunroof, navi. system, auto seat warmers, CD/DVD player and others and its also going to cost a little more then the V6. The seat are standard only on some of the V6s. And do I recommend them, honestly No! because ford is the maker and Ford is only known for good trucks, not cars

I wouldn't spend that much money on a jazzed up Mazda 6. Check out some older Lexus's or Acura's that have a long record of relaibility.

I work on them and I would not buy one ,if you do, just don't squeal at your repair bills.
