How DARE YAHOO Deduct 10 Points From Me!!??

I am one of the people that actually come here to honestly answer questions in hopes of helping someone, I have a 21% best answer rating and feel that I answer from my heart. I have come across some very rude and vulgar questions and answers and have shrugged them off. NOW, last night I came across a question and couldn't understand it (like most of the people that came across the question) so I asked Huh? (as in what is the question?) and I got 10 points deducted for this. Said I was in violation of some policy...said it wasn't an answer or question. Now I've seen answers and questions that were obvious violations that are still up and yet me asking huh? to something I don't understand not only warrants my answer be taken down but also TEN not TWO points being deducted. Am I the only person that thinks this is wrong. I think that makes the site a bit hypocritical, deciding if I want to stay and keep posting on here or not!

As you can tell...I'm a bit upset..lol.

Update:

BY THE WAY THIS WAS THE QUESTION I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND:

when a women feels or desides that she should have sex with men?

It is in other relations then marriage relations may be before or after marriage?

Apparently from what I can figure this violates point 4 of the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines:

"4. NO POINT-GAMING: You may not post content for the explicit purpose of gaining points, trading points, or soliciting others for points or otherwise "game" the Yahoo! Answers points system."

While I understand your basic "huh" as lack of understanding, I can also see, from Yahoo's point of view, that if you don't have an answer to the question then more than likely you shouldn't answer it and if you really felt you could you should probably email the asker for clarification before answering.

Hopefully, this as least gives you an idea why they would do it. Though, I feel that they could be a bit more expressive about the fact that one word answers are not acceptable.

"when a women feels or desides that she should have sex with men?

It is in other relations then marriage relations may be before or after marriage?"

Um, I think what this person was asking is this:

"When [does] a woman feel, [or] decide that she should have sex with a man [or men]?

Is it in relationships other than marriage, maybe before marriage, [or with another man] after marriage?"

Not that tough to figure out. This person's first language obviously is NOT English (but how many languages do you - or I! - speak? How well could you - or I? -ask this Q in this person's native language)?

I would have reported you for Gaming for Points, had I seen the Q&A, and if I could have been bothered to do so.

Your response of "Huh?" is not only impolite, but WAS NOT A Q or A. You did NOT answer the Q. You did not ask the person for more info.

I do not know or care how many points Yahoo deletes for bad answers. It is their site.

I am sorry, and I know that you are upset, but I'd have to say that you made a bad call on this one.

If you cannot understand what someone is asking, simply go on to another Q...

I asked a Q the other day, and one poster found it ambiguous. He did not understand what I was asking.

He did not simply respond "Huh?" He asked me, in his answer, "Do you mean [this] or [that]? If you explain, I'll get back to you..." Something like that.

He asked me to clarify. I did, and apologized, and he answered.

    It is that simple.

Too many people here answer Q with "Huh?" or "idk" or other, non-responsive answers. It gains them points, but contributes nothing to the site.

If you do not know an answer, or do not understand the Q, simply MOVE ON.

That is my opinion, for what it is worth...

I'm sorry - I know it's making you upset - but it's really not that big a deal......I would give you ten points if I could just so you wouldn't be so upset......

I do feel for you though I also try to answer with only the best intentions in mind.....

This the first I have heard of deducting points, I have seen them delete a question or answer but never heard of deducting points, I am sorry if it was unjustified for them taking your pts. But they need to go after some of the real culprits on this forum.

It does suck that some stupid/inappropriate responses go unnoticed and when you - someone who does take time to give a real, thoughtful answer makes one response, you get points taken away... no doubt, indeed it does suck.

But they're just points. They mean nothing. Who cares if you have 10 or 1000000??? Just let it go and keep doing what you do best - offering advice and helping people.

I have answered many questions the exact same way, and feel that it is silly to report for that. I do,however think that it is good that deductions are being made for items that are reported. Now they need to make sure that they use that punishment for legitimate purposes, not something silly, like your situation.

some people 's points get deducted when they answer someone's stupid question....vulgar/stupid type questions ...with a Huh? or Ok...

why don't they just erase the freaking stupid question and deduct points for them...

Don't let it stop you....then yahoo has won LOL just keep on posting and enjoy yourself

    HUH?

    (just a little humor there)

Yah, that's stupid. The problem is ANYONE can report you for violation and there's no real person checking to see if it really is a violation or not.

They did something weird like that to me, I mean that was your answer! Don't sweat it. I just said, "I don't care" and moved on ... it was just that dumb. And yes, it kills me the stuff that never gets removed. Purely retarted.
