where is the starter in a 89dodge half ton?

    Engine, passenger side, bottom of engine block, next to oil pan. Looks like an electric motor because that's what it is.

    Coscho - if all else fails, follow the positive battery cable to the starter.

    its on the bottom near the bell housing on it,,you,ll see it down there,,there not to bad to get off,,but its easier to get off from the bottom of it,,it should drop out once the bolts are off of it i think its on the right hand side of the engine,good luck i hope this help,s.

    bottom left side of engine at the back. mounted on the bell housing.
