how do i quit topping the ball?

when i hit my second shots usually with the three wood or 5 wood, iv'e been topping them something fierce. iv'e thrown away alot of good chances to be on in two this way and it sucks!! Help!!!

    You have to find your own way. Go to the driving range and hit some balls. Look at the ball and don't lift your head till after your swing has passed the ball. Try to hit the grass. I have been there before but never with the woods.

    The easiest way not to top the ball is to move the ball back in your stance.

    have you considered using a hybrid from the fairway. They are easier to hit and will give a nice trajectory into the green without a lot of roll.

    look at the ball, wait about a second after your backswing, then go look for your ball...
