Can I plug a battery-operated object into a wall?
I've got this light-up model of Davy Jones that runs on batteries. Would it be possible to rig it so that I can just plug it into a wall socket?

it will blow because of the currency difference & ac/dc rules. Get a converter.

yikes. well, you see, everything that uses electricity has a limit and if it ran on batteries and you plugged it into the wall you would either
1. make the wire faulty and electrocute yourself
2. use a completely closed wire and short circuit the model of davey jones
3. use an unsafe wire, electrocute yourself, and THEN short circuit the model.
so in all, don't do it.
( I wanted to try something like this a while back and I'm glad I didn't follow through with it. I have DSL and the power cord was missing to the "DSL box" and so I tried to make a makeshift one. I soon figured out that my impatience to go on the internet would be futile because If I had continued I would have had to buy a new one later anyway)

Yes... go to Radio Shack and find an AC to DC converter and plug it into this. You will need to bring it with you so they can determine exactly which converter will work best.

HELL NO..It runs on batteries for a reason...Look at your little toy and see if you can plug a power supply into it.
