WHAT if the initials H.P. — as in  Hewlett-Packard — enter the lexicon in the same manner that  Google has? Google, of course, has become much more than a corporate name. It now doubles as a catch-all term for online search that has resulted in nifty little verbs like “Googled,” “Googles” and “Googling.”
 If H.P. undergoes the same sort of metamorphosis and becomes shorthand for illicit snooping, you might be telling your friends that a stalking ex-boyfriend is “so H.P.” or that your office mate, who snoops through the stuff on your desk and listens a little too closely to your calls, has “gone H.P.”

HP has not done anything that thousands of other companies haven't done. It is called industrial espionage. Many people believe that is the only way Microsnot got its jump start. HP got caught; Dunn, as an officer of the company, represents the company.

Is it right? Hell, no. Hp and Dunn deserve whatever consequences happen.. I, personally, do not trust any company uncondirionally. Would I boycott HP, if I had the money to buy their products? Well, I would at least be tempted. I"d boycot anything microshaft except there are no viable alternatives for me at this time. Their ethical stance smells a lot..But I have not heard anyone say I am full of MS.
