Was the gunmen at the Amish school Amish himself, and if so, why and how did he get or have guns?

Were there a lot of missed signs/signals?!

No he was not Amish at all. He just lived nearby and he chose the Amish school because he knew it would be easy prey. He was a coward and a bully preying on helpless females. It was a most heinous crime from a deranged and disturbed individual hiding behind a cloak of normalcy.

From what I have heard (as others stated) he was not Amish. According to the news here (I'm from Eastern Ohio - not too far from the incident) he had no criminal record, had no history of mental instability, and had legally purchased the gun.

A note about the apparent absurdity of an Amish having a gun - I teach at a public school where there are a lot of Amish - so I do know what I'm talking about. Lots of Amish have guns, even the children, some are just BB guns. Most of the men do some sort of hunting that would require them to have a rifle, and I'm guessing many may even have handguns for protection. They may "shun electricity" but they are aware of the world around them and do try to protect themselves. Most buggies in my area have battery powered "blinkers" so that you know the buggies are there.

No, the gunman was not Amish. All I know is, he was a milk delivery man, from a nearby town. If her were Amish, he would not have commited such a sick crime. I am sure there were missed signals, since he himself said he was abused and abused children when he was still a kid himself. He didn't know any of the Amish girls, so there were no signs or signals, as far as that goes.

He wasn't Amish, and apparently his wife was religious as she was at a prayer group when he called her on the cell phone. He lived not far from the Amish community. And the past week he had been acting low in front of his co-workers, and depressed in front of his wife.

Nobody really understands why he went to the Amish school. (He said he was mad at God....so maybe he wanted to hurt God by killing innocent girls in that community.) Apparently he was planning to stay there a while and he knew he would die there by the things he had in his duffle bag.

Everyone please continue to pray for the families who have lost children and for the widow and children of the man who did this.

May God use this for something good.

Hi Peter. No, he was not Amish.

I am sorry some people are so rude when they answer questions...I just don't see the point of that.

I've put in a link to an article & it says that there were "few signs of trouble."
