Why do people purchase digital camera?

1. You can shoot many many more photographs and then select whyich to print. No development or peering at negatives (with the colors inverted...).

2. Learn fast because the quick feedback - the ability to see the results of your shot right away and so you can take that extra picture to make a good and memorable photograph.

3. You get to shoot at different film speeds without changing camera bodies

Etc.

It's trivial to have digital photos developed these days.

Simply take your memory card out of your camera and put it in a protective case (available for cheap at any Walmart). Speaking of Walmart, this is the best place to take them to get developed.

Walk up to the machine. Put your card in. Make a few clicks and pick up your photos later. This is much faster and less of a hassle than bringing film in to be developed. You absolutely do not need a computer. Hell, if you want to print them at home, for a very reasonable price, you can buy a stand alone photo printer. Most quality digicams support something called Pictbridge. Plug your camera into the printer and print the photos directly. This is a great alternative for those photos you'd rather not have photolab staff looking at.

They could bring the memory chip into Walgreen's or other stores and get prints done within the hour.

When you take pictures with a digital camera you can take as many as you want and then delete the ones you don't like. If you did that with film then you would have wasted a lot of money on bad pictures being developed and printed.

Taking pictures in colour and converting them to black and white afterwards is a much better way to go. For one thing it means you can keep the colour if you want, but even more important than that it means you have much more control over the end result. Digital cameras don't have very detailed gradation between black and white, and making the adjustment yourself out of the camera means you can control the result better. If you want a DSLR pretty much any of the entry level ones will do, and many of them are available for btn $300 and $400. There are also plenty of point and shoots within that price range. Also you might consider using film for monochrome, there's still plenty of wonderful black and white film available and alot of great film cameras were built.

digital camera, although more expensive, is more convenient and money saving. unlike the non-digital one, it does not require rolls of films and the pics can be edited or deleted until good shot is achieved. it can be uploaded to the pc too and can be developed through photo shops. the shots which one does have no intention of being developed but wants to be stored anyway for some personal or official reason can be sored in the pc and no need or d.o. when or if the time of need arises, that is along with very uses like video, recorder, etc.

You can take the memory card to Walgreen's and get the pics developed. You don't need a computer anymore to see digitally taken pics. Of coarse, you can't print them out yourself which saves a lot of money. But Walgreen's and other photo type shops have found a whole new market and from what I've seen- people take this avenue quite a bit!

Digital Pictures are great. You can delte the pictures you dont like and retake them. It makes it easier for you to print the pictures you want. Im not sure about the not having a computer thing. I guess you can only print them at a store but I still think its better than a flim camera.

Just because you don't have a computer that hooks up the camera doesn't mean you shouldn't get one. I have a digital and my computer is waaay to old to be hooking it up to anything. But with the digital you can crop, take video, set a timer, delete pictures or edit pictures.

To take digital pictures. Film cameras are almost extinct and take pictures that only a pro with thousands of dollars of darkroom equipment can manipulate.

Try it...you'll like it.

I had lots of photos of my 1st kid, then less of each one after because of film developing costs. Now I can take 1000 photos a month if I like. Digital has it's advantages

but my kids still think it is only to embarrass them
