Peroxide works. used to work for a vet and used that to get blood out my scrubs.

My husband tracked shards of glass into our bed unknowingly, and when we went to lay down last night, I got a shard in the back of my leg, nothing bad, but there is tiny blood spots on the sheet now. I took the sheet off and rinsed it in hot water, but it didnt seem to do the trick. Any ideas?

I'm an Operating Room Nurse. When I get blood on my scrubs, we rinse them off with hydrogen peroxide...use an eye dropper, so you don't over do it and then rinse in cold water.

Just be careful about your fabrics! Remember that blood is a protein. Do a little test in a place near an edge to make sure the color won't run first or ruin your fabric

The first thing you did wrong is never put any item with blood on it in hot water. Take the sheet and soak it in a bucket of table salt and cold water let set overnight and wash if it doesn't come out use peroxide, pour right on the stain and let bubble,repeat and then wash.

Buy OXI CLEAN Stain remover. Spray it on the stain for certain minutes and wash your blacket like you normally do. It works, if it didn't the first time. Don't worry to leave the spray on the blanket longer, the color won't fade...make sure you buy the ones for color clothings. Try spray the spot and leave it on for 20-30 minute and spray more (repeat the process) then wash it again. That's what I did. Doesn't matter what kind of stains and how old the stain is, the spray will remove it and your blanket will look good as new. The spray is about $2.00.

Hot water sets stains in, should have used cold. Try Biz, it's a whitener like those oxy products but safe for colors. You'll have to soak it for awhile in a concentrated mixture of Biz and water. Also try a wet paste of it and scrub with a toothbrush. Use cold water. I get everything out (including blood) with Biz, eventually.

NEVER EVER WASH BLOOD IN HOT WATER!! Always use cold, hot water causes blood to set in. Fortunately you didn't ruin your sheets permanently. Haul yourself to the nearest store and buy a bottle of Oxyclean spray on pre-treater. Soak the spots with the pre-treater, work it in gently with your fingers, then let set a few minutes before you wash it in the washing machine with cold water. Before you put it in the dryer, check it to make sure the stain came out. If it didn't you may have to repeat the process before putting it in the dryer.

I was a hairdresser for 34 years and got hair color and sometimes if I cut my finger blood on my clothes. I would spray the spot with hair spray ASAP. I do not know what is in hair spray that works pretty well, but it did. Hairspray has alcohol and butane. Maybe that is what helps remove spots. COLD WATER ALWAYS ON BLOOD.

Alway rinse blood stains in cold water and try putting laundry detergent right on stain. Rinsing with cold water should take the stains out. Good Luck

In the medical field, we use hydrogen peroxide to take out blood stains. It is not as harsh and discoloring as bleach. Good luck.
