I think the Dodgers performed worse than the Twins, even though the Twins made more errors. Perhaps if the Twins hadn't made the errors, they may have been victorious. The Dodgers were just plain outplayed by the New York Mets.

Mauer and Hunter were the biggest disappointments for the Twins. Neither produced offensively, and Hunter's error was really costly.

Penny, Maddux, Broxton, Drew, and Tomko were all disappointments, especially the relief pitchers who were ultimately the reason for the Dodgers' losses: Penny in Game 1, Tomko in Games 2 & 3, and Broxton in Game 3. Maddux just didn't have a great performance in Game 3 to shut down the Mets. Drew failed to hit, especially in key situations.

    The Dodgers!

The Twins and Mets BOTH had ONE healthy PROVEN starting pitcher.

The Dodgers and A's had the better pitching staffs in their respective series.

The Dodgers should have taken advantage of NO Pedro and no El Duque. But, they just couldn't do it. The Dodgers should have won this series... but they couldn't even win a game.

    (Swept AGAIN.)

The Twins entire offense was sleepwalking through that whole series...interesting since all the games were played during the day.

Santana only let up 2 runs in his start so you really can't put any blame on him, he did his part but the Twins had to win game 1.
