i'd call 9-a million-a million and--if accessible--intrude. i'm a fairly huge guy, 2 hundred plus kilos and over six ft tall, and may want to be in a position to a minimum of intimidate the attacker. If it were a wrestle and it acknowledged neither individual develop into picking on the different i'd probable no longer intrude till I felt someone develop into in risk of death or intense damage. If it were a lady being assaulted through a guy i'd almost easily for my section intrude, till I felt there develop into no risk of fulfillment and that my involvement can make issues worse.

All of you who continue to capitulate to the police state and trusting the man with the badge will be deeply sorry very soon. When the police do show up its you will be investigated first you dummy! I get the point of your question but we are way beyond that type of society - when calling the police to actually protect us from the criminal element of our society. The fact that we have capital punishment AND the highest murder rate should give you a clue. 800,000 people have disappeared in this country - who you gonna call? The ghostbusters? Get a clue.

In India we do not see such things ( We have to say we did not see even when we had seen) because police here will be seeing us more often and we will be in trouble for years to a crime which we had not done but only seen, the police want us as witness to the crime in the courts.
Do you know about Jessica Lal's murder.

I go with #3, if I saw someone littering, I probably would not call, but if I saw a car being vandalized on the side of the road, then I would call.

look there are a million or so called "crimes" according to some of our ridiculous laws so one would HAVE to use judgement here when calling the cops, otherwise you are just a simpleton and not somebody i would ever put myself around.
but to answer,
3. WOULD DEPEND ON THE CRIME

5. If it was on a cop and he deserved it, I guess I'd be tempted not to.
But then, they reserve the right to not speak against crimes they witnessed too...
"answer #1.. it's you duty morally and as a good citizen. "
I just want to see cops really living up to that when their buddies commit crimes.

yes... it is encouraged that somesome call soon... you dont have to leave your name... use a payphone or land line telephone if it is in emergency... if you use a cell phone... (and this only happens in cali) the call goes to CHP who then transfers the call to the local police... it takes time and even a few seconds can mean life or death...
