I have a 12 year old Geo Metro LSI. What auto should I replace it with?

It has 89000 miles on it. It still gets around 40 mph/highway.

i own a repair shop, and id pay no attention to what people say about the car as long as it runs good and still get that kind of mileage id drive it some more its not worn out yet,but if i did have to replace it, id think about a good Toyota corolla there really good vehicles to own,and operate and they don't give much trouble at all,and when they do there easy and cheap to repair,i get a few of them in my shop, but not for any major problems all i can say is i think there one of the best little cars on the road today, and it would make a good replacement for the little Geo..but drive it until the wheels fall off of it,good luck i hope this help,s

First of all, ignore the "get new friends" people. Having sex without protection, especially at such a young age, was a really dumb mistake, but you shouldn't abandon your friend when she most needs you. Check with her that she has more evidence of pregnancy than fat. By that, I mean missed periods or a pregnancy test. She probably has already checked, but it's worth asking. She can't deal with this without her parents. It's just not possible. Besides, they'll find out anyway. They're not stupid; pregnancy is incredibly obvious. This is where peer pressure is a positive. Even if it damages your relationship in the short run you absolutely must pressure her to tell her parents. You should talk to your parents as well, even if she doesn't want you to. She will thank you later. If you have a good reason to believe that her parents would abuse her if they knew then she should at least talk to other adults about the situation. She can't do this alone. An abortion may very well be the best option at this point. Besides the emotional impact, I've heard that pregnancy isn't healthy for younger teenagers. Don't quote me on that, though. But HURRY, HURRY, HURRY, HURRY! Every day that passes increases ethical issues. At a certain point (the third trimester), abortion isn't even an option. If she does choose to carry out her pregnancy then she needs to get prenatal care. Planned Parenthood's web site has some relevant reading material. It might even be worth a call to them. They've dealt with similar situations many times before. There is information on other parts of the web as well. Search for teen pregnancy in a search engine. Ignore any web sites that are condemning teens in her situation. That's not what she needs right now! Act quickly, time is not on your side! Good luck Edit: I wrote too quickly on contacting Planned Parenthood. Leave that to the adults.

If you really like your Metro, for size, economy, etc....then check out the Chevy Aveo. Its pretty much a modern day Metro. Be sure to look at the new 2007, not the 2006. They restyled it, changed the interior, and its an all around better looking car than last year for the same price.

Wow, that's old! Don't feel too bad, I have owned a Geo Storm and my boyfriend had a Geo Metro at one point. It might be hard for you to find a vehicle that gets as good gas mileage ... but the Chevy Cobalt is a good car, at a good price, and gets pretty good mileage. I just bought one. :)

geo's are great cars if you take care of them. my dad had a tracker that lasted to 250,000 miles and would have kept going if he had noticed it was overheating due to a broken radiator hose.

I had a geo spectrum that lasted to 180,000 but it had a rough life before i got it.

if the metro is in good shape i would keep it. if not look at a chevy aveo they are the replacement for the metro. both made by suzuki.

This sounds like a great car and just like anything else age is only a number. But if you truely want to replace it you should get a Black with red interior Dodge Viper Or Lambo. Hey you already had 1 great car now lets move it up a notch.

The cost of a repair is probably higher than what the vehicle is worth. However, if you're about finding great deals, keep the car and get it repaired. You didn't put that much on the engine for 12 years and you're getting great mileage.

Hon. replace it with a brute of a car like an even older 1981 Chevrolet Chevette! or about an 87 Yugo!

well, if you want a GREAT car that is reliable and gets GREAT gas mileage and is safe, i would recomend the Toyota Corolla/Chevy Prizim. but why not hang on to the car if it still runs great and gets great gas mileage. gas prices arent going to go down any time soon. i actually miss my '91 3 cyl 5 spd 2 door hatchback Metro. lol i abused it though. i would smoke my tires through the intersection. beat a cavalier doing it. i think its because they were laughing their butts off..... lol good luck on your car search!

If it's still running good then just keep it(save your money) otherwise try:

-Chevy Aveo(it's just the new geo metro)

    -Chevy cavalier

    -Toyota camry

    -Nissan altima or maxima

    Good luck
