  • How much do you have to use your left leg while driving a semi truck?

I love to drive and have been considering a trucking career for a long time. However I have a weak and partially numb left leg from nerve damage.

So the question is how much do you use your left leg when driving a semi truck? I have read that floating the gears is an option but I'm sure that's probably not always possible.

    Thanks in advance!

  • ohio utility right of way tree cutting?

our local electric cooperative came out and talked to my mom about trimming some of our very nice large pine trees that her and my dad planted some 26 years ago. they told her they would have to trim the top out of two of them and they would cut down a poplar tree that was dead. the electric company employee marked the trees for cutting and trimming with diffrent marks and diffrent colored paint and left saying that the contractors would be buy in a couple days to do the work.

the contractors came Asplunda (big orange trucks you see everywhere) and cut a tree that was not marked in order to cut the poplar tree down. which they could have accessed easily from the other side of the tree but not from the road using the bucket truck.

I called the electric company and told them my displesure with what they did and that we had not talked what so ever about cutting this tree (which was still small enough that it could have been transplanted with some work). I told him I wanted them to come out and set a leader branch on the tree so it did not grow a big top hat the guy said he would and that the crew that came out was a line cutting crew who normally only cuts brush etc away from the lines and they messed up.

do i have any legal case aginst them? the tree was in the right of way but aren't they suposed to make a reasonable attempt to notify us of any and all alterations they are going to make in a reasonable amount of time before they do it? thanks!

  • contract offer to purchase expired?

I made a offer to purchase a condo in ohio on the terms of a short sale with the bank pre foreclosure. the seller ended up having a lien aginst him for almost $6000 that attached to all the property he owned and was missed in the foreclosure action. the bank that had the lien was going to take care of it which is now going on 2 months and it has not been taken care of. I have extended the offer 4 times and they have not been keeping me informed as to what is going on. there is also other issues such as unpaid taxes and association fees that needed to be fixed. anyway I got fed up with it and let the contract for the accepted offer to purchase expire and my realtor and i filled out a release form and sent it to them.

that has been several weeks ago and I still have not gotten the release back from them with the sellers signature meanwhile their is another property I would like to make an offer on but I don't want to get stuck buying both of these properties.

does the seller, sellers lender or realtor have any recourse other then not giving me back my ernest money which was only $100?

  • will a jeep yj with a cj hardtop accept yj half doors with window sliders?

has anyone found yj half door window sliders that will work on a yj with a cj hard top.

I know the sliders would have to have the rounder corners to fit the hard top but would the angles of the doors match.

bestop appears to sell window sliders with rounded corners just curious if anyone has tried them with a cj hardtop.

  • 1996 civic lx auto trans slip?

I bought a 96 civic lx for a commuter car it has 154k on it. when i bought the car the trans was sliping between 2nd and 3rd and ocassionally grinding in between 2nd and 3rd. took it to a trans shop and had them put in a good used trans with only 45k miles on it and it is slipping a little also not near as bad though.

my question: can the shift points and firmness be changed in this car. my old civic had a upshift cable that could be adjusted but I think this one is all computer controlled?

is it normal for a 96 civic lx to shift slow between 2nd and 3rd.

also thinking about converting to manual if this trans dies to?

    Thanks!

  • o2 sensor in manifold where does it hook up at on a 85 2.6 liter caravan?

I bought a 85 mini ram van (cargo version of the caravan). someone has changed the motor in it at some point and missed hooking up the temp sensor, fuel pump hoses where on backwards, and the o2 sensor.

I have all of them fixed except for the o2 sensor there is just a little piece of wire hanging off of it (black) and i have no idea where it is suposed to be hooked up at. there is a gray wire running down to the vicinity of the o2 sensor but i am not sure if it is the right one or not.

The van runs great but when it warms up it has difficulty staying running.

any help i can get getting with this will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • distributor timeing?

while doing some trouble shooting i adjusted the timeing on my 85 ram mini (cargo version of the caravan) 2.6 liter figured out what the problem was which was not anything to do with the timeing.

its running very well now but i have not set it with a timeing light.even though I don't think that it is very far off from its original setting is there a chance that i could cause damage by not setting the timeing with a timeing light?

if so can you explain the steps for setting the timeing with a timeing light.

    Thanks

  • Carburetor people please help?

have an 85 Dodge Ram Mini (cargo version of the caravan) that has the 2.6 liter motor.

the top flapper on the carburetor seems to be opening way to soon allowing way to much air to mix with the fuel (which causes it to die within 2-3min afer starting it.). I have tried spraying a little carburetor cleaner in it but it did not do much. If stick somthing in it to manually adjust it while it is running i can get it to run as long as i want with the object holding the flapper most of the way closed.

what is this little door called and is there a way for me to adjust it/replace it without to much trouble or am I do for a new carburetor?

    Thanks!

  • Computer Company uniforms (sorry if you have seen this before, trying to get as many opinions as possible.)?

I have a computer repair biz (mostly onsite) that I have been operating for a couple years now which has been prospering well but I am looking at other methods to help my biz get noticed.

my computer biz name has a auto performance theme to it and I am thinking of having jumpsuits or coveralls made for myself and my employees with my business name and maybe have pit crew member?under my business name?

you may ask why jumpsuits or coveralls?

well it's somthing different then what every other IT person in town is wearing and should draw some attention.

    They do not require ironing.

compared to the cost of business casual clothing they are similar in price.

My employees like the idea and are being included in the decision of the type/design which will have some computer hardware/software logos.

would you mind having someone wear this into your home or business? opinions? is this a lame stupid idea?

    Thanks
