For all you Law & Order SVU fans. I need help with a cetain half missed episode.?
Okay, I was almost finishing a certain episode of L&W SVU, it was about a sex pedifile that had gotten away with mutiple killings and rapes. Well, the SVU team caught up with him at the train station, then he slit Olivia's throat and Eliot decided to help her instead of the boy. Well, the boy ends up dying and he leaves with the girl. Eliot and Olivia end up in a certain abandoned building and all of the sudden, Eliot is held hostage with the guy and olivia is on the ground pointing the gun at the pedifile, then it went to commercial and I had to go to bed. If anyone has seen it, honestly, please tell me what happens, it's been on my mind all day. Thanks.

Eliot tells Olivia to shoot the pedophile but she doesn't and a sniper shoots the pedophile,and they find the girl in a crate in the warehouse and she is alive
Then Eliot and Olivia are talking in the hospital after they bring the girl there, and Eliot says he feels that they cant do their jobs right because they care to much about other.
In the last scene Olivia is going into Cragen's office and he asks her whats up, and she tells him she wants a new partner. And that is where the show ends... then in the next episode Olivia is assigned to Computer Crimes, and Elliot gets a new partner. But Olivia comes back when a case at SVU involves her.

Eliot keeps telling Olivia to shot the guy but she doesnt and a sniper takes the pedifile's head off,a nd they find the girl and she is alive
Then Eliot and Olivia are talking and Eliot says he feels that they cant do their jobs right because they care to much about not letting each other get hurt.
The last scene is Olivia going into Cragen's office and he asks whats up, and she says I want a new partner.

JSWEIT8573 has the correct answer because this episode was the set up to explain Mariska Hargitay's absence from the series so she could go on maternity leave last spring.
Being on temporary assignment with the FBI explains Olivia Benson's absence right now until Hargitay returns. But if you take a closer look at the reruns, you will notice all her appearances were shot last spring before going on said leave.

It was the one with Lou Diamond Phillips. As Eliot was telling Benson to shoot, the SWAT team comes in, makes some noise and then takes off half the perp's face with one shot.

Was the pedo Lou Diamond Phillips? Olivia doesn't take the shot, a sniper takes him out. They find the little girl stashed in a box in the warehouse thing.
