What is LOVE?

Love is a condition or phenomenon of emotional primacy, or absolute value. Love generally includes an emotion of intense attraction to either another person, a place, or thing; and may also include the aspect of caring for or finding identification with those objects, including self-love. Love can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience usually felt by a person for another person. Love is commonly considered impossible to define.

The concept of love, however, is subject to debate. Some deny the existence of love. Others call it a recently invented abstraction, sometimes dating the "invention" to courtly Europe during or after the middle ages (though this is contradicted by the sizable body of ancient love poetry). Others maintain that love really exists, is not an abstraction, but is indefinable; being a quantity which is spiritual, metaphysical, or philosophical in nature. Some psychologists maintain that love is the action of lending one's "boundary" or "self esteem" to another. And others attempt to define love and apply the definition to everyday life.

Love is a profound feeling of tender affection for or intense attraction to another. It is considered a deep, ineffable feeling shared in passionate or intimate interpersonal relationships. However, in different contexts, the word love has a variety of related but distinct meanings: in addition to romantic love, which is characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire, other forms include platonic love, religious love, familial love, and the more casual application of the term to anyone or anything that one considers strongly pleasurable, enjoyable, or desirable, including activities and foods. This diverse range of meanings in a single word is commonly contrasted with the plurality of Greek words for Love, reflecting the word's versatility and complexity.

You just want to ask that question , or you just playing dumb! well, some of us don't really know the answer though. well, it is when you love somebody without no return favor. And it is the same with your family or your significant other. The fact you able to love your dad without ecpecting him to give you money in return or love your gilrfriend without expecting to have head from her! i hope that gives you an idea.

It is a special feeling that you don't want to be with anyone else but with her or him. It is knowing what the other feels and says before they say it. It is passion that if you are with someone they are more beautiful than Helen of Troy or Don Juan etc

love is when you cant live w/ out that person in your life. they are the last thing you think of before you fall asleep and they are the first thing you think of when you wake up, love makes your life enjoyable. it is fulfillment and happiness to your life. love brings light upon your life

Love is like war: Easy to begin but hard to end..

I don't think love is definable in words, I think it's just something you feel deep down inside of you.

its a state of mind which is created by the human desire to be close to someone.

This state of mind is like hypnosis and is exploited by big business and the music industry, films, cosmetics, cards etc to gain big bucks out of lovestruck people.

love is wanting everything for others,just as we want a happy,peaceful,prosperous life for ourselves we have to learn all people have the same desires.
