I need ideas of family vaction spots between Houston, Tx and the Southern Tip of Florida,?

I would say between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Alabama I live in Gulf Shores, Al but the beaches are prettier in Orange beach, but depends on what you want to do, there is more fun in Gulf shores, but they are only 20 min apart I would suggest staying in a beach house in Gulf Shores, but to visit Orange Beach for the prettiest beach!

Houston and San Antonio right now (and for years to come) are rife with the criminal underbelly of New Orleans' lower 9th ward residency--who got washed out by Hurricane Katrina. I'd be wary taking my family to those cities and anywhere West of Texas.

Pick a city and scope out the local online newspapers in that area--look for hints on the level of violent crime existant in that area.

Katrina evacuees haven't gathered much in Florida and I'd scope out local tourist websites on Destin, Panama City, Daytona, St. Petersburg, ORLANDO (DisneyWorld/MGM, Universal theme parks....a-hemmm....uh....Dad!! HINT! HINT!).

Miami might also be nice....be a good idea to scope out how safe you feel it is, though. And if you're a "parrot-head" kind of guy, you might like visiting Key West.

San Antonio is a good spot. They have the RiverWalk, Seaworld, Fiesta Texas and alot more.

sparkling Lake is extremely staggering, its exceptionally much genuine inbetween Houston and Galviston. confident, there's a huge lake too. My superb pal lives there and that i like going obtainable. it is likewise genuine next to Kemah that's very family individuals friendly!

Pensicola is fun.
