Who is the better fit for Cubs manager- Joe Girardi or Lou Piniella?

Jim Hendry has said he will probably hire a manager before the World Series starts. All sources have indicated it is between Girardi and Piniella. Who should he hire and why?

Joe Girardi will probably be manager of the year in the National League this year. A man without a job. Joe was a Cubs player but more importantly he was a Yankee and knows what it takes to win.

Having said that so was Lou Piniella. But Lou would be better suited with an organization that doesn't have such a terrible history of losing. You saw how Lou handled the Tampa Bay situation. He made a bad thing worse!!

Joe's temperament will fit much better with the Cubs. Make no mistake, Joe is a no nonsense guy but his approach will work better than Lou's.

Lou is a hot head and as far as the Cubs fan are concerned, that don't want another side show, they just want to win.......and now!!!!

Girardi since he was a player for the club, and Sweet Lou wasn't... I think Hendry would be smart to get Girardi for the respect factor and the stuff he can do with players however for some odd reason I don't really see either one of signing to manage the Cubs. However Girardi would be great and I would love to see him manage the Cubs... and Lou could go to the Giants or just stay out of game....

    Neither!

The Cubs should hire Bobby Valantine, he took the Mets to the World Series in 2000 with a very flawed team, one that tanked the following year under Art Howe.

Joe. He grew up in Peoria and was a Cub fan as a kid. Drafted by the Cubs and began his career in Peoria with the Single-A Chiefs. Made it to the bigs and was a team leader with the Cubs and the Yankees. Perfect fit.

Girardi because he was a former Cub and would love to get them out of their usual slump.
