The Riverwalk downtown is the area most people want to see. There are shops, restaurants, and a fountain I think. Overlooks the St. Johns River which is one of the few rivers in the world to run north (the Nile does too, but not too many more)

You can also go to the beach, there are several within a close drive.

Go see the fort in St. Augustine, which is south of Jacksonville. Nothing really to see in Jacksonville.

The best thing to see in Jacksonville is I-95 heading out of town.
