Why does science demand testing on animals?
Non-animal tests are generally faster and less expensive than the animal tests they replace and improve upon.

Everyone here is nuts. Drugs are tested on people all the time. Some people make a living signing up to take drugs in what are called "phase three trials". You usually go to a research center and get the drug and stay there under observation of M.D. and R.N for 12-72 hours depending on the drug. And, yes, animal testing is necessary also.

Because animals are a lot cheaper to test things on than people who require payment for their time and compensation should anything go wrong with the experiment. I imagine that therefore science is testing on people rather than animals in third world counties where life is cheaper, but don't quote me, or sue me on that :0)

I would think science tests on everything. It has to. It would not be science if it did not. The propaganda machine lavishes stories about testing on animals, but they test on us all, one way or another, but we do not need to know about it, because, withoug testing people would not have privvy to innoculations etc. so, somethings got to give, and it means an animal, so what.

Because the public doesn't allow testing on humans. People sue all the time so companies must test their products before releasing them for human usage.

In events of testing on animals for cures animal testing is more accurate. it wouldnt be done if it wasnt the most efficient way of doing so.
How many childrens lives have been saved due to the research done by labs? I am in full support of nessecary medical reseach, not genetic engineering at all but finding cures for cancers, AIDS, etc etc.

Because animal testing is big money for major companies.
Money is what makes the world go 'round.

I don't think it is "the public" et al that is against testing on humans, but the Churches.
And that's why we have to wait for 7 years until a new, potentially life-saving drug can get onto the market.
And on the other hand we allow convicted murderers having a good life at our (tax money) cost, rather than giving them a "chance" to actually do something good for society....like testing new drugs.....

Because they can't do it to Humans so unfortunately they go for the next best thing animals

In a perfect world animal testing wouldn't be necessary but as it (usually is) you wouldn't like products tested on yourself or your children ...
