To succeed in cinema you must go to the respected cinema schools. This is what they (at the schools teach) to make an impact on the observer. Visualization alone doesn't do the trick. A producer must blast his career forward. The network TV commercials do the same thing. Sound tone sometimes makes a difference ,but the volume must be there to convey shock or sudden surprise. Color has advantages, irregular lighting (strobing for example) also does this, but is not enough-- tampering with the sound is a definite emphasis in cinematography.

I honestly believe that loud music (be it on television or in the cinema) is used as a distraction to cause anger so we cannot concentrate on or remember all of the film/programme being shown. Type of brainwashing if you like by some clever person.

You tell me....
I love surround sound as much as any movie buff, but I have been to a couple of movies that were unnecessarily deafening. Kind of took the fun of the whole surround sound experience away. It was like they were trying to see what it would take to make our ears bleed!

no idea--I went while 8 months pregnant and had to leave because the baby started to kick so bad. Even he thought it was too loud. I thought I was going to go into labor.
