Simplifying the equation, the odds are roughly 1 in 4,293,391,309. This is the number of people who have lived since 1946 divided by the number of people who have lived to 116.

It depends on how old you are. People in the 1700s only lived to forty. People now live to about 65 to 70. The younger you are now, the more likely you'll live longer later. Another thing that might determine your survival is your environment, your genetic make up, and if you are and stay healthy.

Pretty low in this century, but in a few hundred years or so, it's quite possible lots of folks will live that long.

my friend's grandmother is 120, alive and still kickin. she is known to live life to the fullest and looks like she only 65
