Well of course they are going to be closer with their biological mother than you. You have to undertand that.

Second, dont act like your their mother. Your not. You really dont have the right to tell them what to do or ground them or anything like that, the more you try to be their mother, the more they will resent you. You have to make them understand that you are not trying to be their mother. You need to be more of a friend to them. Think of it like this. If your daughter went over to your bf ex-wife's house to play, you would feel bad about it. Do you get what I am saying.

Blended families can be hard to deal with. My best advise is to relax and go with the flow. If you try to hard, they won't trust you. Concentrate on being happy and giving to those around who want your attention. They'll come around.
