We have planned a Vacation of 9 days for a tour of Rajasthan. Can any one suggest the best way to go around?
We are 4 people and we have seen the normal tourism websites but they seem to be very costly in terms of Stay. Rs. 2000 per Double room or so. We need to spend Rs. 4000 per day for 9 days? Any one from Rajasthan having cheaper Alternatives? Practical Solutions only. Please..
Does the Govt. Of Rajasthan organise package tours? May be the cost would be less and would also also reliable.
In case any one happens to know any good travel arranger, may be I could contact them and arrange it.

Two of us travelled from Delhi to Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Pushkar, back to Ajmer, Delhi. 9 days altogether. Had a wonderful time. Got a quote for this journey and was put off -- Rs 70000 per head. Instead, I hired a car (Indica) with driver. Never booked hotel accommodation in advance. Just walked into heritage hotels (the best) and bargained on accommodation. Was able to get up to 30% discount on room rates. These hotels also have complimentary accommodation for drivers. Total cost for two (two years ago) was Rs 25000 including everything -- hotel, meals, car, tips. Enjoy.
